How can I be sure that your climate financing is done in reliable projects?
Read more about how we ensure that your money actually benefits climate projects.

To ensure that the money is useful, there are different standards for climate financing such as CDM, Gold Standard, Plan Vivo, VCS and Fair Trade that evaluate different parameters in projects depending on what they contribute.
The whole thing is quite complicated as certain projects, especially tree planting projects and older projects, have been shown to not keep their promises after repeated reviews, and in some cases even had negative consequences for the local population and the environment where the project has been implemented.
It is clear that you cannot choose just any climate project to finance for this. We therefore only invest in credible and rigorously reviewed projects, projects that have the Gold Standard certification (backed by WWF, among others) and also pass our internal quality guidelines.
In addition to choosing rigorously third-party audited projects that are Gold Standard certified, we also spread investments across different climate projects to further increase the certainty that we are achieving real climate benefit.
