The idea is simple: to manage something well, you need to be able to measure it. By working out how much greenhouse gas your company is emitting, you can see exactly where you need to cut back. The calculation results guide your company towards sustainability. They identify optimal steps to lessen your impact on the planet. There are several ways to do climate calculations, ranging from simple business calculators to automated integrations based on your accounting, or to manual calculations done inhouse or through external consultants. GoClimate offers all three of these services.

We know that communicating your sustainability work is key and that larger companies will be required by law to share emissions and other details on their sustainability efforts. In reality, companies should always tell customers, investors , and workers about the good things they're doing for the environment and their journey to improve. The key in sustainability communication is transparency rather than perfection - and so, having an understanding of your emissions is crucial to show how you plan on reducing them. When calculating a company’s emissions, you look at three different scopes - simply referred to as Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
